Participants of the 'Day with a Judge' project at Panevėžys Regional Court – students of Panevėžys College
As every year, in November, the courts invited academic youth to participate in the traditional event 'Day with a Judge', i.e., to visit the country's courts, learn more about the judicial system and the work of judges, ask them questions of interest, and see how court hearings take place.
For almost a month, students from various educational institutions visited Lithuanian courts, gaining many emotions, thoughts, and observations about law, justice, and the judicial system.
At Panevėžys Regional Court, four students from Panevėžys College participated in this project.
The girls, divided into two teams, met with two judges – Judge Alvida Jasaityte-Pralgauskienė, who handles civil cases, and Judge Valdas Ciesiūnas, who handles criminal cases.
The students interacted with the judges, asked many questions, were interested in the cases handled by the judges, their workloads, toured the court premises, and had the opportunity to observe court hearings conducted by these judges.
The young people who participated in the 'Day with a Judge' project also had to complete a task – to share their reflections and insights about the work of the court.
At the final event of this project, the commission awarded the 5 best final works, and all participants who submitted reflections received diplomas and symbolic gifts from the Lithuanian courts, reminding them of this unique experience.
