By decree, the President of the Republic of Lithuania has appointed Judge Ignas Totilas as the Chairman of the Civil Cases Division of the Panevėžys Regional Court.

He took over the position from the long-standing Chairman of the division, Judge Laimantas Misiūnas, who led the division for two terms and continued to serve as acting chairman for an additional two years after they ended.

"You are young, talented, receptive, and intelligent. Fortune is smiling upon you, so it remains for me to wish you great success and the support of the team," Judge Laimantas Misiūnas said, offering warm words to his younger colleague.

The President of the Court, Donatas Jatužis, also welcomed the newly appointed division chairman and wished him successful leadership, new ideas, and fair decisions.

"Although we mostly sign decisions with an electronic signature, sometimes a traditional signing method is still needed," the President of the Court said while presenting the new division head with an engraved pen from the staff.

Ignas Totilas thanked everyone for the wishes and promised to make every effort to ensure the smooth operation of the division.

"I sincerely thank everyone for the support; I certainly have someone to look up to, and I hope for the successful continuity of the division's work," he said.

Ignas Totilas is well-known to the Regional Court staff, as he previously worked there as a judge's assistant, and in April 2024, he was appointed to the Panevėžys Regional Court as a judge.

Prior to his appointment to the Panevėžys Regional Court, Ignas Totilas served as a judge for three years at the Rokiškis Chamber of the Panevėžys District Court and for four years at the Panevėžys Chamber of the Panevėžys District Court.
