A motion to remove the prosecutor has been filed in the case against Kristijonas Bartoševičius
On Wednesday, Panevėžys Regional Court continued the hearing of the criminal case against Kristijonas Bartoševičius, who is accused of sexual offenses. During the hearing, the defendant's lawyer filed a motion to remove prosecutor Donatas Skrebiškis.
The defendant's lawyer justified the motion to remove by arguing that the prosecutor may be aware of more circumstances related to the events in question than those indicated in the case file.
After hearing the opinions of the participants in the hearing on this matter, the court will announce its ruling on whether to grant or deny the defense's motion to remove this Friday, November 22.
In the previous hearing, the court granted two requests by the defendant's lawyer for additional investigation of evidence. The defense requested to question witnesses who were not included in the list of witnesses submitted to the court, as well as to question in court the experts who participated in the pre-trial investigation.
In today's hearing, the court heard two close relatives of the defendant as additional witnesses – Kristijonas Bartoševičius' mother and sister.
Four experts who provided psychiatric-psychological expert opinions of the minor victims during the pre-trial investigation are invited to participate in the next hearing on December 4.
